What is really going on inside your intestinal tract?
Did you know that a large portion of your immune function resides in the intestines? If your digestion is running smoothly you will get sick less often. You will be less susceptible to diseases. Why?
Well, the intestinal flora provide an environment and ecosystem within the intestinal tract that helps support your innate immunity. This helps you digest your food better and protect you from harmful bacteria by secreting chemicals that keep them from growing. This is why fermented foods are so good. They provide you with the friendly bacteria (Lactobacillus) that you need to stay healthy, fit, and strong.
Many people experience digestive dysfunction these days. This means they don't have regular bowel movements (right before or right after each regular meal).
These are the first symptoms of digestive dysfunction:
· Gas, bloating
· Constipation or diarrhea
· Bellyaches, nausea
· Non-specific pain in the abdomen
· Low energy and cravings for refined foods
These are the secondary symptoms of digestive disfunction:
· Acid reflux, indigestion, and heartburn
· Low acid in the stomach
· Food intolerances and sensitivities like wheat, gluten, dairy, and other foods
These are the later stages if digestive dysfunction that appear when you ignore the above symptoms:
· Cancer of the abdomen, colon, pancreas, and other digestive organs
· Ulcerative Colitis
· Environmental allergies
· Skin problems
Over time, living with the symptoms of digestive dysfunction can lead to chronic and serious illness. These signs are the first warnings. How long have you experienced your digestive disorder?
What would you look like if your digestion was working optimally?
· Strong energy all day long
· Glowing skin
· Clear and calm eyes
· Eat 2-3 times per day without any digestive disturbances
